In this study, raw corn silk was considered for the removal of cadmium ions from aqueous solutions. order to improve adsorption characteristics, KOH treatment applied as a route obtain modified materials. Both materials before and after metal were characterized by pHPZC, SEM-EDX FTIR analysis. SEM images spectra revealed that alkali modification caused some structural changes could properties investigated material. The experimental results ion-exchange study biosorption process on predominantly mechanism, followed chemisorption. kinetic parameters implied there are three stages in process. addition, both is very fast pseudo-second-order model. fitted two parameter isotherm models, while Sips model best describes According model, maximum capacity adsorbed 49.06 mg g?1, which 2.23 times greater comparison material (21.96 g?1).
